Well-being in Our School Community

Wellbeing is a central part of school life and underpins how we support pupils to engage, learn and thrive. As a school community, we take a proactive and inclusive approach to promoting positive mental health, emotional literacy and a strong sense of belonging for all pupils.

This year, the school is participating in the NEPS Wellbeing Pilot Programme, which provides targeted, evidence-based support to pupils through structured wellbeing interventions. As part of this programme, pupils in selected classes are taking part in the Feel Your Best Self programme, which focuses on developing emotional awareness, self-regulation and coping skills. This programme is delivered in structured blocks across the school year and has been positively received by pupils and staff.

In addition, the school is developing a Wellbeing Ambassadors initiative, which will commence in January. Through this programme, pupils will be supported to take an active role in promoting wellbeing across the school community, in line with the Bí Cineálta framework and our whole-school approach to inclusion and care.

These initiatives are part of a wider commitment to embedding wellbeing into everyday school practice, ensuring that pupils feel supported, valued and empowered within a safe and nurturing environment.
