Behaviour Support

NCSE- RELATE

St. Killian’s School is proud to be part of the Department of Education’s pilot of the NCSE RELATE framework.

RELATE is a comprehensive resource that supports school staff to better understand behaviour and respond in a positive, supportive way. It places relationships at the centre of all support and takes a “regulation first” approach, helping pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

RELATE is guided by eight key principles and six elements of support, providing practical strategies and reflective approaches to meet the individual needs of each pupil.

As part of this initiative, our staff are also supported by NCSE Behaviour Specialist Mercedes Moylan, who works alongside our class teams to strengthen best practice across the school and provide support and resources.

This reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a caring, respectful, and supportive environment where every child is valued and supported to thrive.
