50th Celebration Events 2019

We had a fantastic celebration on Friday September 20th. We started with a visit from The Lord Mayor, Cllr. John Sheehan and Lady Mayoress Aedamar Sheehan who spent some extra time with the children. Even Realtín enjoyed some attention from the Lady Mayoress

Friday evening was a great success with 150 guests, including Deputy Lord Mayor Cllr. Joe Kavanagh and Deputy Micheál Martin. It was a wonderful evening celebrating our school and we all felt extremely proud. Past pupil Micheal Hegarty spoke about his life changing experience at St. Killian’s and the Mayfield Men’s Shed Choir under the baton of Marion Power entertained us throughout the evening.

The children made very creative posters which decorated the hall and a video of the pupils choir was enjoyed by all.

Friday June 14th 2019 was a fantastic day in St. Killian’s!

It was the start of our 50 years celebrations and we commenced the day with our sponsored walk. The rain stopped for us just in time and everyone enjoyed the walk, which was followed by ice cream for all! On our return to school some of the groups danced The Cha Cha Slide to celebrate our success!

At 1.30pm parents, friends, ex-pupils and members of the Mayfield community arrived to view our very impressive Art Exhibition. Hard work was put in by all pupils and staff and it was suitably admired by all our visitors! See photos below.
